A Bruise on the First Amendment
In the first case since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks to test free speech against the demands of national security in the age of terrorism, the ideals of an earlier time were eroded and free speech lost. By preserving an extremely vague prohibition on aiding and associating with terrorist groups, the court reduced the First Amendment rights of American citizens. CLICK HERE

Creation of An Angry Black Man
Our peaceful, non-partisan president may have fallen prey to the shenanigans of the main stream media in that he had briefly taken on the persona of someone who everyone loves to hate; the angry Black man.

A Clear & Present Danger

Meanwhile we are suffering the tragic loss of our troops in our Afghan enterprise in mounting numbers, while voices from the Command say things are regressing. Our flag raising victories are made foolish by the hesitance of liberated Afghan populations to embrace the bill of goods we are peddling,  Richard E. Schiff  CLICK HERE

a town hall meeting to address the topic Stop Corporate Influence from
Destroying Our Democracy.Held at St. Vladimir's Church on Manhattans
Upper West Side, the forum was one of about 150 such meetings taking

residents concerned about the influence wielded by corporations and

WHY TORT REFORM IS NEEDED
The United States Cannot Afford this judicial mess

I walked over to the Staten Island courts for jury duty, a thankless (in my opinion) obligation that every American citizen has to go through every couple of years. I woke up later than usual (since the courts here are just a few blocks away from my apartment) and at the appointed time I was at my seat, hoping for the hours to move quickly as I shifted between a book and this week's New Yorker magazine. by Ernest Barteldes

BBC “Spikes Holly” Greig Story

In the October 2009 print edition of the UK Column, we reported in our article "BBC Hides Truth of Girl’s Sexual Abuse Ordeal" the shocking ordeal of a girl with Down's Syndrome, Hollie Greig (photo: on the right), who was horribly abused by an Aberdeen pedophile ring, over a period of ten years. After investigating and planning a documentary, the BBC abruptly dropped the case, despite admitting that Hollie was a reliable and accurate witness. It is important to stress that both the police and qualified medical experts have described Hollie as a competent and entirely honest witness. -Click Here

THE TEA PARTIERS ARE FASCISTS AND A THREAT
TO NATIONAL SECURITY

by Richard E. Schiff
Now that there is at long last a man serving as President, who is African-American, these angry, gun toting, arrogant ignoramuses are not only threatening the President but threatening the Federal Government at the same time. Well, this is Treasonable behavior and nothing else!

Along with their difficult loves, these characters have dreams on the brink of being deferred.  All of them are poor. Paulie still wants to make it as a cage fighter, even though he’s broken down and thirty four.

TWO TICKETS TO HAVANA, PLEASE... REALLY
by Ernest Barteldes
Today, any American citizen can hop on a plane and fly to 'rogue nations' like Iran or North Korea, provided he or she gets a visa to enter those countries. Even though they are part of what the Bush administration called 'the Axis of Evil,' there is nothing (legally) that this country can do to against you if you decide to do so. However, the same does not ring true in case that same citizen decides to spend a few days sipping mojitos at a Caribbean island just 90 miles off the coast of Florida. If you do that, you are breaking the law, and might suffer dire consequences if you go for it anyway.STORY

Gazette Exclusive
Fat Chance
by Melissa Beveridge
While passing by a local fast food restaurant, I saw an overweight child, around 12 years old,
bringing his tray to the table with his friend. Curious, I looked a little closer to see what this overweight
12 year old boy would be consuming, and surprise, it wasn’t a kids meal, hamburger, or even
French fries. This boy had a big salad on his tray....Then, his next action smashed my hopes.

From Producer/Director Michael Nash

There is a new phenomenon in the global arena called “Climate Refugees”. A climate refugee is a person displaced by climatically induced environmental disasters. Such disasters result from incremental and rapid ecological change, resulting in increased droughts, desertification, sea level rise, and the more frequent occurrence of extreme weather events such as hurricanes, cyclones, fires, mass flooding and tornadoes.
